A simple form, a square enclosure, with two cuts/entrances at two opposite corners, contains a small system of paths, open to multiple choices: one can decide to enter on one side and exit on the other, according to a single sinuous line, going up and down twice; or to deviate, get lost, travel the space endlessly (or almost!), hide and chase without ever leaving the enclosure, looking at oneself from above and below.
The simple hides the multiple; the initial choice, entering, gradually forks into a tree of different possibilities.
